My Daybook: December 1

FOR TODAY

Outside my window… it is gloomy.  I know that the sun is desperately trying to break through the grey barrier of somberness.  But alas I think the weather has decided  to act according to the month it actually is — and leave balmy weather behind (hello yesterday in Indiana!)

I am thinking… how incredible it is to take an intentional day off of school so as to not feel guilty.  Now, I’m allowing this because I had a fever and the aches yesterday.  I am giving myself grace and some much needed recovery today.  I will mostly likely crawl back into our infared sauna in a few moments, because it just felt so good the 50 minutes I hibernated yesterday.

I am thankful… that the kids are very invested in Learning How to be a Ninja school today.  It is glorious to have them agreeable with one another (for the most part). While I research air purifiers I am grateful for the relief that my weird looking Himalayan Rock Salt inhaler has done for my lungs (if only I could get Naomi to breathe the ionized air in).  It’s felt so good that I am considering more ways to ionize our household air . . . maybe one of these?  And . . . I love that my family is drinking less fluoride and chlorine now with our Berkey (by the way, if you use the code LESS15 you will receive 15% off of your Berkey Water Filter).  And I no longer have to purchase filtered water to make Water Kefir Soda.

So I am just thankful.  Because we have some good things in place to promote health.  If we weren’t’ doing these healthy things, I can only imagine how bad off we would be.  Right?

In the kitchen… raw milk kefir and kombucha are fermenting . . . and fresh pumpkin muffins are waiting to be devoured with honey.

I am wearing… the yoga pants I slept in and my favorite purple hoodie from Fort Wilderness that the Engineer bought me this past summer.  And we can’t forget the Smart Wool socks.

I am creating… a video for Naturally His, a cape for Naomi, and vacation plans.

I am going… to encourage you to to purchase my favorite cleaning and homemade beauty recipe book . . . they are 50% off!!! (until midnight tonight, that is)

I am wondering… when I will need to break down and replace my computer.  It is slow as molasses, overheats, and generally doesn’t like to be disturbed – to the point of refusing to grant the user access to important files.  I am also wondering . . . if I should go ahead and order our Berkey filters for next year – since they are on sale.

I am reading… 1 Thessalonians (since I am studying Children of the Day), Rock Your Network Marketing Business by Sarah Robbins, and Unwrapping the Greatest Gift by Ann Voskcamp.

I am hoping… to declutter and reorganize my desk. And dare I mention, I am hoping and praying about going to Disney World and Colorado and Texas this year?  But my big dream . . . a mission trip.

I am looking forward to… the Engineer being off work at the end of the month.

I am learning . . . to reprogram my mind and think positively.  I’m learning how to {literally} be strong and work out consistently. I’m learning that God gives grace.  And there is more than one way to worship (however, I still maintain that there is one way to be saved – through Jesus Christ and his death and resurrection).

Around the house…

I am pondering… how in the world to keep it clean and organized every day.  Even though the kids help when asked, this is just an overwhelming daily task. It. Wears. Me. Out.

A favorite quote for today… I can’t motivate people who are unwilling to do what it takes to succeed.  They need to want it for themselves more than I want it for them.  (Sarah Robbins)

One of my favorite things… my bed buddies from my friend MacKenzie. She made one for each of us – but I have claimed them ALL as my own.

A few plans for the rest of the week: heal, rest, get well . . . recognize my amazing oily team, plan a date with the Engineer, and teach an oils class tomorrow.

A peek into my day…
