Generous Tuesday: A FashionABLE Scarves #Giveaway
It is no secret around these Indianapolis parts and on Instagram that I adore my FashionABLE scarves. I have 4 of them.
I know, that might seem excessive. But I am almost compelled to buy them. I know that every scarf I buy affects another woman — probably my age and with children.
I am making up for several years of looking like I just slithered out of bed. This mommy is waking up and living. (Thank you 26 pounds of weight loss!) The scales have been taken off of my eyes. I can make a difference.
What You Purchase Matters
I can’t stress this enough. Sustainable and fair trade products impact REAL people. You may not know them, but God does. Seriously.
Spend your money wisely and search for items like FashionABLE scarves.
I want you to watch this video from FashionABLE to hear the story behind these scarves. (You have to anyways to enter the giveaway.)
10 Reasons Why You Should Wear a FashionABLE Scarf
- Warmth: While the scarves are made in Africa, you will be warmer this winter with one around your neck. Now that I have lost so much weight, I am always cold. Really cold.
- You Won’t Be Too Warm: I even wore my FashionABLE scarf when it was hot out. Because they are made out of a breathable thin material.
- They are pretty.
- They smell good(until you wash them).
- They impact a woman’s life for good. When you purchase a scarf a part of the proceeds goes towards helping rescue that woman from the streets (read prostitution) and provides health care and education for her family.
- You can wear your clothes multiple times during the week yet no one will notice with a FashionABLE scarf. FashionABLE has a blog dedicated to showing you how to “style” your new scarf. Or watch this fun YouTube video that features 25 ways to wear your scarf. (Not that I wear my favorite pair of Old Navy Boot Cut Sweetheart jeans almost every day of the week without washing them. Nope. Nothing that a little essential oil can’t hide.)
- You can become part of the transformation cycle.
- You can blog about your scarf and bless both your family and women in Ethiopia by doing so, as FashionABLE has an affiliate program.
- Because you will receive LOTS of compliments on your scarf, it gives you an opportunity to be an advocate for sustainable organizations and the woman who made your scarf.
- Your FashionABLE scarf allows you an opportunity to educate your children. Share where Ethiopia is, learn about the country, pray for the nation, and teach children that where you spend your money – matters.

Wow! This looks amazing. I’ve enjoyed learning more about this project. 🙂
I was able to watch this video with my daughter. It provided a great opportunity to share with her how blessed we are in the western world and how to be a blessing to others by buying sustainable/free trade products like this one. In the midst of a heavily commercialized season this is an important lesson to impart. Thank you!
what a great story and changing lives!
i am touched by your desire to change women’s lives, one scarf at a time:) i recently had my eyes opened to the many women in this situation back in august at a ladies retreat. i too felt compelled to buy their works of art and love and hope when given the opportunity after the session. thanks for sharing and caring. such beautiful scarfs!
It is heartbreaking what these women have endured.
Thank you for sharing this with the world…the more we share Christ’s love out loud with others, the more we can really change the world – from the heart out!

Wow…..almost speechless. I could see the empowerment in their eyes, beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
What a great cause to support and look fashionable at the same time 🙂
This would make a fantastic Christmas gift for my sister. So much better to buy one for that cause than just at any old store.
Oh man, I SO love what these guys are doing! Not only are they beautiful scarves, these beautiful women get an opportunity to get out of a life of bondage!
A wonderful chance to help rebuild women! Love it!
It’s a great cause. Thank you so much for sharing.
Will get some scarfs for gifts.
Beauty out of ashes. A Beautiful thing!
Thank You for passing on this great video, but also such a great organization! It is so encouraging to see these women’s lives changing right before our eyes, and that we can be a part of giving Glory to God!
It is so sad to see that number that says how many women are in prostitution there. These scarves are so beautiful. This year instead of going to the mall to look for Christmas gifts I want to support women who are trying to live a better life. Thank you.
Wow…amazing story. Thanks for sharing the back story to the product. I would love to have a scarf for me and my daughter.
I am so moved by the video….thank you. The numbers they shared of the people in extreme poverty and involved in prostitution was so eye opeing.
I was at the Influence Conference, and I saw the video you posted above. It does not get easier to watch even though I had seen it already. These women are just like me. But their stories can change with our help. I love that.
What a great story!!
