Birthdays are a big deal in our house.

Jesus gets His day in a big way.  Cake and everything.  (Yes, I know  . . . December 25th isn’t REALLY the day of His actual birth.)

For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

People’s Birthday’s Are a BIG Deal

I also know that God thinks that His children are pretty unique.  Special.

For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.

The world nearly stops when it is one of my kids’ birthdays or the Engineer’s.  And if you are out with an adult having a birthday – forget paying for your birthday meal.

It is a day where YOU get all the presents, the food you want, and extra-special, crazy attention and head-over-heals service.
