Welcome to Last Chance: A Review
Welcome to Last Chance by Cathleen Armstrong was one of my most recent vacation reading books. Yes, I slipped back into vacation reading mode. I think because – I was on vacation.
The main character, Lainie Davis, is running from trouble – trouble that she didn’t necessarily cause. Lainie was dating a dude that was bad news and caught up in drugs. Before it was too late, she saved money to purchase a car and left as fast as she could. There was one problem. Her car couldn’t keep up with her pace and Lainie ended up stopping at the Last Chance exit – yes, a physical location.
With nowhere to really go and no money, Lainie found herself slightly stranded here. This was a small community that embraced her, gave her a job, and a second chance at life – and she took it.
However, her past caught up with her and Lainie’s former boyfriend discovered her whereabouts . . . and came looking for the drugs he had stashed in her car (that she had given to the police).
What happens? Well, that is for you to go to your local library and find out. You can purchase this book on Amazon, but I would recommend you find it on PaperBackSwap or at your library. I found Welcome to Last Chance entertaining but often reread pages because the time sequence would jump and caused me to be confused at how quickly time passed.
Thank you Revell for sending me Welcome to Last Chance to read on my vacation. I was not paid for this post and all opinions are mine.
Sounds like an interesting book! I love paperback swap!
