Cassidy, the heroine of this semi-western/high society novel, finds herself fleeing  her hometown to get away from her recent and emotionally charged breakup.  Cassidy’s family lost their family fortune and her fiancé suddenly became disinterested. 

To save face, Cassidy travels to California to get away from the societal pressure and hurtful reminders.  Determined to stay away from men, she is surprised when she falls in love with a genuine man, seemingly uninterested in society trappings.  Well, that is until his desire to marry into wealth is revealed.
