I’ve Been Hacked!
We play pirates a lot in our house. Well, the boys play pirates. And the Engineer . . . well, he is a boy. Thus he is a pirate.
And he has purposed to hijack my blog (with my help). Because of this, I took some candid photos of him.
The man seriously makes me howl (that means LAUGH hard).
It is with great honor and giddiness that I hand my blog over to him.
The Engineer Speaks
Hello everyone. This is the Granola Mom’s husband, aka the Engineer. I’m hacking her blog in a linkup with other husbands who’s blogging wives are going to the 2012 Allume Conference.
I’ve guest posted on the GranolaMom4God blog before, but due to the sudden drop in traffic that coincided with my previous posts, I try and keep my posts to a minimum. See (The Big Picture or She Wasn’t Granola When I Married Her for a good laugh).
I’m making an exception this time in a shameless attempt to win the iPad that is going to be given away to one of the blogging husbands at Allume.
I’m an Engineer, Not a Writer
Not that I don’t know how to put letters together to make words or put words together to make sentences. Anyone can do that, but that doesn’t necessarily make me a writer.
I know how to write, but I’m not a Writer. My wife is a Writer. She reads books like they’re candy. She plays with words and even letters with the same joy that our kids play with Legos. She builds narratives with thoughts and ideas like I build structures with dirt, steel, and concrete. She sees every moment in our lives through a camera lens that can capture images that will teach, inspire and encourage those who read her blog. My wife is a Writer… a Blogger.
Blogging Has Affected Our Life
The world of blogging and particularly the Allume community has impacted my wife by giving her an opportunity to allow the gift of writing (that the Lord planted in her) to grow and blossom in her life.
She has been faithful to nurture this gift by surrounding herself with other great writers (like those attending Allume) who challenge and inspire her to write — to blog for a purpose.
The joy and encouragement that my wife receives by seeing her gift bear fruit and bless other people’s lives make all the sacrifices of time that we have invested in her blog well worth the price.
I love that her blog is about so much more than posting cute pictures and stories of our kids (not that there isn’t plenty of that!). Her blog is all about
serving and nurturing other mothers and wives with writing and pictures that use our family’s life journey to teach others about family, healthy living, home educating, and honoring God in all that we do.
Few things give my wife greater joy than the comments that all of you leave on her blog sharing about the influence and encouragement that her blog has had in your life.
Blogging Impacts Others for Good
So I guess it should be no surprise that the biggest impact the blogging community has had on my wife is the impact she has the privilege of making on others.
A wise man once said
The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself, (Proverbs 11:25 NKJV).
I see this truth lived out in my wife’s blog every day.
PS: As much as I argued against having my pictures posted all over this post, the Granola Mom put them in anyways. I guess she hijacked it back. Sorry that you had to suffer through those. I have a face for radio, not for blogging.
You are blessed to have such a wonderful wife…thanks for your support of her – she loves you so! I pray you win the I-Pad too!
Good luck on winning the iPad!
So sweet! Husbands ROCK!
