Hearing the Word of God
These days my quiet times start out . . . quiet. Alone – well, with Ruth and my Brickhouse Coffee.
But as the digital clock displays 7:00 (and the magical alligators disappear from the hallway), little feet begin to creep down the stairs. Eyes accustomed to darkness, squint with the minimal light that I have on to read my Bible.
Instead of getting up even earlier just to be alone, I have decided to embrace this somewhat interrupted time. To use it to bless my children – to train them up in the way they should go.
To teach them how to have a quiet time. To answer questions they have when they read or listen to their Bible.
In Romans 10:17, the Bible says,
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
And so, Ezra has been doing just that – hearing the Word of God.
However, Asher, Gabe, Naomi and I have also been privy to this audible reading of the Word of God. We have been listening to Matthew using my Audible App.
To help Ezra feel a sense of accomplishment and to give him a visible map, I created a very simple check off page.
I thought it just might benefit you.
Download the Matthew Check Off Sheet for your child to use with the Audible version of the Word of God NKJB Bible.
How have you been teaching your child to spend time daily with God?
I need to do this- I need to make it personal for them. Thank you for the inspiration!
