When the Soul Mends: A Review
My friend Emily got me hooked on Cindy Woodsmall. I *heart* her books. They are just sweet . . . feel good stories. Totally luxurious to read . . . uplifting.
When you read them it is like taking a lavender scented bubble bath in the midst of chaos. Heavenly.
When the Soul Mends is the most recent novel I have read by Woodsmall, and is noted for making it to the New York Times Bestseller list. It is the third book in the Sisters of the Quilt series.
Main character, Hannah, returns to her hometown after receiving a phone call from her slightly misguided sister, Sarah. Entering this world, after living as an Englisher for several years proves difficult. But her love for her sister and making sure that Sarah receives proper medical help compels Hannah to defy cold shoulders from the community.
However, more difficult than the Plain community is the fact that Hannah must work alongside her former fiancé, Paul Waddell, as he plays a valuable role in Sarah’s care.
But there is an even larger part of the story that I’m NOT telling you . . . on purpose.
