Three Years Later: My Columbine Flower
I have nurtured this plant from seed . . . for three years.
It reminds me of our first year of marriage when we lived in Colorado. Perhaps that is why I am this flower’s personal body guard.
In Song of Solomon, we are warned to keep foxes out of our garden . . . you better bet I am going to protect this flower from being pulled in the spring by hands that might confuse it with a weed . . . or being clothed with mulch . . . and finally run over by bike tires.
I know . . . Song of Solomon isn’t literally about a garden . . . if it were then my husband would have legs made out of marble. It would be rather hard to bike.
